Meet Appin: Your Guide to PWA and Home Screen Tips

Appin

Hi, I’m Appin.

I wander around OJapp Tips, helping explain PWAs, home screens, and the sometimes strange behavior of Web apps.

Whenever something starts to feel a little too technical, I might pop up with something like:

“Wait, what does that mean?”

or

“This is the important part!”

You’ll see me here and there throughout the articles.

So, who is Appin?

Appin is a character born from OJapp’s home screen icon.

My job is to make things OJapp has actually tested—PWAs, home screen behavior, Web apps, and all the little browser quirks—easier to understand.

I especially like home screens.

Where you’ll usually find me

  • OJapp Tips articles
  • PWA guides and explanations
  • Anything about the home screen
  • Places where you might wonder, “Why does it work like that?”
  • Results from OJapp’s experiments

If you spot me, just think, “Oh, there he is again.”

Appin

You’ll be seeing me in plenty of places around OJapp Tips from now on.

OJapp Tips - Practical PWA & Home Screen UX Lab

OJapp Tips is a technical blog documenting real-world PWA behavior, iPhone Safari quirks, home screen installation, manifest.json, Service Worker, Web App Manifest, WebClip, icon cache issues, and practical web development tips based on actual testing with iPhone, Android, and PC.

The articles are based on hands-on experiments from PWA LAB and real development experience with OJapp, Petal, and OJ-Pass. Instead of only repeating official documentation, OJapp Tips focuses on the details developers actually get stuck on.
